We are a dedicated and Passionate Muslim women team that is ready to walk with you in overcoming psycho-social challenges. We use faith based approaches to disentangle emotional and psychological disorders. Palm Professional Counselors (PPC) is a not for profit Uganda-based organization whose aim is to rebuild hope and harmony amongst people particularly those in challenging times.
To be the leading organisation in rebuilding hope and harmony in East Africa.
To provide an enabling environment that rebuilds hope and fosters harmony in society.
To help our clients rebuild hope after a period of stress and loss of hope.
To sensitize the public about the value of counselling.
To ensure couple strengthening and family stability.
To build capacity of more counsellors particularly females.
To extend a helping hand to the needy.
We follow the rules of counselling as we go about our duty. We care about our image as service providers so we do everything to maintain the trust of the client, family members, friends and the public.
We derive our guidance from Islamic teachings.
Everyone who seeks counselling services has a story to tell. We listen to you, as you pour it all out. Only then do we get informed adequately to walk through the dilemma with you, assessing well the context.
We make sure that we understand your situation and put ourselves in your shoes. When you break down in our counselling rooms, we will console you, reminding you that there is still hope and a life of dignity and harmony. However, we will NOT cry with you, for if our counsellor cries as you cry, nobody will be strong enough to support the other!
Whether a client is young or old, woman or man, student or working executive, we respect each one who walks into our offices.
We handle each case opened at PPC with a serious sense of responsibility, as we wish to support you to reach a successful conclusion to your challenge. Many people who have faced a crisis in life and gone on to take an extreme action like suicide, first spoke with somebody who didn't take them seriously.
At PPC, we listen to each person without any biases. We have dealt with young people who felt they did not know who they are-gender wise. We have dealt with people who feel addicted to sex or feel their case is beyond help. Yet, with our small but committed team of Counsellors, we worked with our valued client and enabled them re-build hope and dignity and harmony in their life!
